The 2023 Ford F-150 Lineup Regains Auto Start & Stop Feature Post

The Ford F-150 is well-known as America’s best-selling pickup truck—and for good reason. This legendary truck is packed with features, but supply chain snags and parts shortages over the past few years have been challenging for both the automaker and auto buyers alike. Luckily, things are improving, and the F-150 lineup is set to regain one important feature for the upcoming F-150 models—auto start and stop. Here’s what you need to know.

Supply Chain Constraints and the Auto Start and Stop Feature

If you’re an F-150 fan, you might’ve heard about the option to remove the auto start/stop feature for a discount back in August 2021. Ford made this option available out of necessity, thanks to ongoing supply chain constraints. The option has been offered for the 2022 model year as well.

Ford Authority recently shared the exciting news that the feature is set to make a comeback for the 2023 lineup. While the removal option was a great perk for some, it’s nice to know that Ford can find ways to work around these obstacles and bring back beloved features for their customers.

Auto Start and Stop Is Coming Back

Starting on March 24th, 2023, the Auto Start/Stop Removal (option code 52X) will no longer be available to order. While those who have already placed their orders will still receive the removal and $50 credit, those taking delivery of a 2023 F-150 with this option must sign an acknowledgment form.

Even existing dealer stock orders with option code 52X that have not been produced will have the option removed by March 27th. The good news? The removal comes because parts shortages are easing up. Whether you prefer auto start/stop technology or not, it’s clear that Ford is continuing to innovate and adjust to its customers’ needs.

The highly anticipated F-150 is also set to retain its Multicontour Seats with Active Motion Removal and Active Park Assist 2.0 Removal options that make your ride both comfortable and easy. But that’s not all – Ford has also added back two options that were previously dropped due to supply chain issues: the Ford Co-Pilot Assist 2.0 package and Connected Navigation and Connected Built-In Navigation. These features allow you to stay connected and in control on every journey.
