Today, the Ford pros at Essential Ford of Stuart wanted to take a few minutes and share some of the most exciting tidbits from the Consumer Reports article naming the Mach-E as their EV Top Pick. Here are the highlights worth taking note of.
First, a little background. For the past two years, the Model 3 has been Consumer Reports’ top EV pick. In doing so, they pointed out that “The Mach-E crossover is wrapped in Mustang heritage and executed with the detail associated with a century-old automaker. We took instant notice, and so did car buyers.”
So, what makes it win out over the Tesla Model 3?
According to Consumer Reports, it’s because the Mustang crossover is “more practical” and also offers a “far easier” state-of-the-art infotainment system that is easy to use and navigate for all your technology needs. But, of course, it doesn’t hurt that the Mustang Mach-E also comes with a better, smoother ride, along with reduced road noise.
What about semi-autonomous driving capabilities? The editors at Consumer Reports put that to the test as well. Thanks to Ford’s BlueCruise driver-assist technology, the Mustang Mach-E received a slight edge over the Tesla by providing a more effective and responsive drive monitoring system. How? The Autopilot featured in the Tesla was docked because it still functioned while drivers were looking away from the road.
Top that all off with the lingering concerns about Tesla’s reliability, the recalls issued in recent months, and owner complaints about build quality, and the Mustang Mach-E is a clear-cut EV top pick.
