The forthcoming 2022 Ford Edge is coming out with some excellent modifications and upgrades. The midsize 2-row crossover SUV boasts sharp styling, spacious interior, and captivating performance. The 2022 Edge is the next-gen model, so you’ll be getting even more luxurious features. These include a complete interior redesign and exterior overhaul. Pricing is expected to start at about $33,000 and top out around $44,000.

1. Peak Performance
Under the hood, the 2022 Ford Edge will get a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s possible we’ll see a three-row Ford Edge along with the two-row model. Plus, the Ford Edge will be available in four trim levels with the sportier Edge ST featuring a 335-hp turbocharged V6 engine with a seven-speed automatic gearbox and paddle shifters. Both the engines will get Auto Start-Stop technology.
2. Exquisite Exterior
There’s still a lot of speculation about the exterior redesign of the 2022 Edge. Expect a new wheel design with 18-inch alloy wheels; the SEL trim will get 19-inch alloy wheels while the ST will sport 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels. Two new grays join the paint palette and a rear parking sensor will be standard. All models will receive acoustic coated glass on the front side windows to eliminate extra noise. Moving from the SE to SEL adds many features like LED fog lights, heated exterior mirrors, body tinted mirror cover, chrome exterior trim, and roof rails.
3. Interior Ingenuity
The 2022 Edge is equipped with plush seats, and the comfort doesn’t end there. With the rear seats folded down, the Edge can accommodate about 30 pieces of carry-on luggage. The SEL trim adds power adjustable front seats, heated front seats and steering wheel, and nine-speaker premium audio system. Step up to the ST and you’ll get a moonroof, ambient lightning, and wireless charging pad. The top-tier Titanium adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote start system, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
4. Top Tech
The infotainment system of the 2022 Edge is upgraded to the SYNC 4 interface, which uses conversational voice recognition to find destinations and to send text messages. It also gets a 12-inch infotainment screen and the Wi-Fi hotspot is standard across the range. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability come with as well as other built-in apps including Waze and SiriusXM Traffic + Travel Link with personalized features. Optional packages with advanced features include the Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist package, Convenience package, and more.
5. Superior Safety
The latest Ford Edge rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) crowned it a Top Safety Choice thanks to its “Good” overall crash testing and standard automatic emergency braking that’s rated “Superior” in collision prevention. Other standard safety equipment on the Edge currently includes blind-spot monitors, lane guard assistance, and more.
