The Ford Bronco Sport Will Use the C2 Platform Through 2030 Post

The Ford Bronco Sport—the Blue Oval’s rugged crossover—debuted to much fanfare in 2020 for the 2021 model year. Built on Ford’s innovative C2 platform, the Bronco Sport has found its footing in the off-road-capable crossover class. Now, AutoForecast Solutions has announced that the Bronco Sport will continue to use the C2 platform through 2030.

While the crossover will undoubtedly see updates throughout the years leading up to 2030, a platform change isn’t in the cards. Read on to learn what this means for the future of the Bronco Sport.

The Ford Bronco Sport Will Ride on the C2 Platform Through 2030

The Bronco Sport, much like several other models in Ford’s lineup, is set to continue to use the C2 platform through 2030, with a July 31, 2031, end date for production. This 11-year production run is quite long, but Bronco fans can expect several substantial refreshes and even a complete redesign along the way.

The rugged crossover shares the C2 platform with the Ford Maverick and Ford Escape, both of which will see their respective redesigns soon. Why does the C2 work for this generation of Fords? The platform offers great modularity, and it can use a torsion beam or multilink rear suspension. Many vehicles, including the Bronco Sport, have been highly reviewed in terms of driving characteristics, thanks to the C2 platform.

What’s Next for the Ford Bronco Sport?

While Bronco fans don’t know exactly what’s in store for the Ford Bronco Sport in the coming years, it’s clear that the automaker has big plans for the crossover. You can see Ford’s commitment to innovation and value in the 2023 Bronco Sport, the latest model that sports two new special edition trims: the Heritage Edition and the Heritage Limited Edition.

Both trims give the Bronco Sport a distinctly vintage vibe, featuring pastel exterior colors and white-painted trim pieces. The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Heritage Edition builds off the mid-range Big Bend trim level, while the upgraded Heritage Limited is based on the fully loaded Badlands model. You get an impressive set of features with the Heritage Limited Edition, including massive 29-inch all-terrain tires and a finely tuned all-wheel drive system.

For 2023, Ford’s also made the Black Diamond Off-Road package available for the Bronco Sport. Upgraded features include steel bash plates; hood and bodyside graphics; and exclusive 17-inch gray wheels. What’s next for the Bronco Sport? Time will tell, but you can bet on innovation and quality, year after year.
