The All-New 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Range, Pricing and Release Date

The all-new, all-electric Ford F-150 Lightning shares much of the regular F-150’s body and cabin, but exchanges the gas-powered V6 and V8 engine options for a pair of electric motors. The 2022 Lightning comes standard with 4WD, skid plates for off-roading, a 2,000 lb payload capacity, and 10,000 lb max towing. This truck not only has a super crew cab, a 5.5-foot bed, and a lockable 14.1-cubic-foot trunk up front, but the batteries deliver 9.6 kW to power tools or even a home like a generator.

The Lightning is easily recognizable as an F-150 truck, but with more dramatic lighting and a smoother, more aerodynamic design. Plus, its selectable Drive Modes offer optimal performance based on driving conditions, and each mode customizes the digital productivity screen for a unique experience. It’s no surprise that more than 120,000 Ford F-150 Lightning reservations are already on the books.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Range

The standard-range battery offers a targeted EPA-estimated range of 230 miles. And the available extended-range battery offers a targeted EPA-estimated range of 300 miles. With the extended range battery, the Lightning can accelerate faster than any F-150 yet, targeting 0-60 mph in the mid-four second range. The Lightning can charge from 15 to 80 percent of battery capacity in 44 minutes.

2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Pricing

The starting base price for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning starts at an astoundingly low price. The estimated prices for the Lightning trims are: Pro – $42,000, XLT – $55,000, and while Ford isn’t releasing pricing for the Lariat and Platinum, top versions will reach the $90,000 price range.
