The 2022 Ford Lightning Will Amaze You Post

The Ford F-150 line of trucks is America’s best-selling vehicle, and with the introduction of the new F-150 Lightning, they’re making a strong entrance in the Electric Vehicle (EV) market. Ford’s F-150 Lightning isn’t too much different from its combustion-engine counterpart, but it does have some unique features that make it stand out. Let’s take a look at some of the elements that make the new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning an incredible EV!

Impressive Power

Aside from the F-150 Lightning’s stunning looks, you’ll notice this EV has impressive power, thanks to a dual-motor, battery-powered drive train. The Platinum edition features 563 horsepower and an unbelievable 775 lb.-ft. of torque at nearly zero RPM. The result is zero to 60 in four seconds, an incredible feat for any EV.

Infotainment at Your Fingertips

One of the first things you’ll notice when you enter the Lightning’s cabin is the massive infotainment screen. With Lariat and Platinum trims, you get a giant 15.5-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen with Ford’s latest Sync 4A infotainment system. The screen also has user-friendly features like analog controls and an embedded volume knob. Lower trims get a more restrained 12-inch display, which is still more than big enough to cover all your infotainment needs.

Power on the Go

In the latest generation of F-150s, Ford started offering mobile-generator capabilities. The Lightning takes it a step further, with an even greater ability to power things at job sites, campsites, tailgates, or wherever your journeys take you. The Lightning delivers more than four times the power of the conventional F-150 with a combination of outlets in the frunk, cab, and bed. It’s more than enough to power all the gear you need for a great tailgate—like a projector, portable hot tub, lights, refrigerator, and even a portable AC. What more could you ask for?

The Lightning’s mobile-generator functions allow you to even use the truck as a power source for your home, thanks to Ford’s Intelligent Backup Power feature. Just plug the vehicle into your Ford home charger and the truck feeds power to the home in the event of a loss of power.

The Mega Power Frunk

With many EVs, including the Lightning, you don’t have to worry about the engine taking up space at the front of the vehicle. Instead, you have a “frunk,” or front trunk, and with the Lightning, you’re getting the biggest frunk in the industry—the Mega Power Frunk. You’ve got all the room you need to haul even more stuff, tucked safely at the front of your vehicle.
