The 2022 Ford F-150 vs the 2022 Ford Super Duty and the 2022 Ford Ranger Post

Ford’s lineup of trucks all boast the standard SYNC® 4 user interface with over-the-air update capability as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and USB ports. Also standard are safety and driver-assistive features, including front automatic emergency braking, brake auto-hold, automatic high beams and windshield wipers, and hill start assist. Available is the Co-Pilot 360 Assist 2.0 suite that adds adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, emergency evasive steering, intersection collision avoidance, and more. Additional features included are the wireless charging pad and Wi-Fi hotspot that can support up to 10 devices at a time up to 50 feet away from the vehicle. The FordPass Connect smartphone app allows remote monitoring and control. Some models will offer the Bang & Olufsen premium audio system with 18 speakers, including some in the front headrests.

2022 Ford F-150

Fully redesigned for the 2021 model year, the F-150 showcases an all-new front end with bolder grille options, redesigned headlights, partial LED headlight surrounds, and new bumpers. Now the upcoming 2022 Ford F-150 will offer 2.7-liter, 3.5-liter, and 5.0-liter gasoline powertrains as well as diesel and gasoline engine options. A 3.3-liter and 3.0-liter turbodiesel variants are also available in addition to the F-150 Hybrid. Plus, in the works is an all-electric powertrain. Ford’s newer 10-speed automatic transmission is standard. The F-150 boasts the best payload capacity of any light-duty full-size pickup truck, rated to haul up to 3,325 pounds. Towing capacity tops out at 14,000 pounds. The 2022 F-150 offers three different cab and bed options and can be combined in various configurations. The Raptor also returns after a year off with its 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 and introduces a powerful 5.2-liter V8 supercharged engine. The 2022 Ford F-150 is expected to arrive in the fall, and the price will once again start at around $31,000 for the base trim.

2022 Ford Super Duty

The 2022 Ford Super Duty offers an impressive trio of V-8 engines, highlighted by a 7.3-liter with 473 pound-feet of torque and a diesel 6.7-liter with 1,050 pound-feet. The Super Duty can tow up to 37,000 pounds and haul up to 7,850 pounds of payload. The 2022 Super Duty lineup offers newly available infotainment features, fresh exterior and interior color options, and a new appearance package. With the addition of the Lariat Sport appearance package, models add a color-matched grille, bumpers, and exterior mirrors, as well as black running boards and chrome exhaust tips. New colors include Atlas Blue, Baja, Navy Pier, and Light Slate on certain models and features. While pricing has yet to be released, you can expect the base price to be in the low $40,000s range, topping out in the mid $80,000s range for the Limited.

2022 Ford Ranger

Also expected to be an all-new model, this 10-speed automatic midsize pickup will utilize the same base turbocharged 4-cylinder powertrain as the 2021 Ranger while adding an optional twin-turbo V6. Expect excellent powertrains, a consumer-friendly packaging structure, and class-leading payload capacity — about 500 pounds more than a comparable Toyota Tacoma. The 2022 Ford Ranger is anticipated by the end of 2021 and will start at $26,000 for a base model with 2-wheel drive and an extended cab. It is believed that a Ranger Raptor will be introduced as a range-topping model for this new generation, and should reach the low $50,000s range. The well-optioned XLT crew cab model with the FX4 package should cost around $40,000.
