Our Ultimate Ford F-150 Cab Style Guide Post

The Ford F-Series pickup trucks have long set the standard of what a pickup truck should be. They’re the best-selling line of trucks in America for a reason—year after year, each model delivers a full range of utility, performance, and value.

Each F-Series truck is designed to tow heavy loads, not to mention heavy payloads in their durable truck beds. The size of truck you buy depends on which cab you choose, and Ford’s made it easy for drivers to find the option that best suits their purposes. Here’s a breakdown of each cab style, so you can pick the one that’s right for you.

Regular Cab

If you don’t regularly haul around a big crew, the F-150 Regular Cab should suit your needs just fine. The Regular Cab offers seating for up to three, and you and your passengers will enjoy a generous 43.9 inches of legroom and 40.8 inches of headroom. There’s one pair of doors and a single bench seat in both the F-150 and the Super Duty line of pickups. Keep in mind, though, that the Regular Cab isn’t available on most luxury-level trims.

SuperCab

Need plenty of room for both your crew and your cargo? The F-150 SuperCab could be the best option for you! This spacious cab offers comfortable seating for up to 6, and it’s packed with tons of features, even at the standard level. From 2-way manual driver/passenger seats to cruise control and more, every feature is designed to deliver a comfortable, safe ride.

What sets the SuperCab apart from the Regular cab? There’s a second row of seats, plus each side gets a door for easier access to the back seats. Second-row passengers have plenty of room to spread out, with a comfortable 33.5 inches of rear legroom and 40.3 inches of rear headroom. The second row also gets a pair of doors that are narrower than the front pair. The handle is located inside the door frame, so you or your passengers have to open the front door before opening the back one.

SuperCrew and Crew Cab

The largest cab available in the F-150 fleet, the SuperCrew cab offers seating for up to 6. Also called the “Crew Cab” within the Super Duty series, this cab is reserved for the most luxurious, premium trim levels, and it offers even more room for passengers to spread out, relax, and enjoy every drive.

In the SuperCrew or Crew Cab, passengers get an impressive 43.6 inches of rear legroom and 40.4 inches of rear headroom. The narrower doors of the SuperCab are replaced with a full-size set of doors that open and close independently, making it easier for passengers to get in and out.
