Prerequisites for BlueCruise Activation
While Ford BlueCruise is incredibly easy to use, there are some conditions that must be met before you can enjoy its hands-free driving functionality:
- Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control: Ensure that you’ve activated your Mach-E’s Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control.
- Lane Centering: The Lane Centering feature must be switched on.
- Lane Markings: The system should be able to detect lane markings on the road.
- Steering Wheel: Your hands must remain on the steering wheel during the operation of Ford BlueCruise.
- Driver’s Attention: Your eyes must be focused on the road ahead to stay vigilant and responsive to any situation.
Setting Up Ford BlueCruise

- Access Controls: Start by accessing the Controls menu on your SYNC 4^ screen. SYNC 4 is the latest infotainment system from Ford, providing intuitive access to various vehicle settings.
- Driver Assistance: Once in the Controls menu, navigate to the Driver Assistance section. Here, you’ll find a range of features related to your vehicle’s safety and assistance systems.
- Select Cruise Control: Within the Driver Assistance menu, look for the Cruise Control option and select it.
- Activate Lane Centering with Hands-Free: In the Cruise Control settings, you’ll find an option to activate Lane Centering with Hands-Free. Choose this option to enable Ford BlueCruise.
Using Ford BlueCruise
With Ford BlueCruise enabled, you can now use it during your drive. Here’s how to make the most of this advanced feature:
- Adjust Speed: Use the steering wheel control button to activate Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control and Blue Zone automatic detection. Toggle the button up and down to set and adjust your desired speed. You can also select the gap distance between your Mustang Mach-E and the vehicle ahead.
- Status Indicator: Once Ford BlueCruise is activated, an indicator icon will provide you with the status. When the icon is blue, it indicates that Ford BlueCruise is active, and you are in Hands-Free mode. If the icon is green, it means Adaptive Cruise Control is active for hands-on driving.
Deactivating Ford BlueCruise
To deactivate Ford BlueCruise, you have a few options:
- Cancel/Resume Button: Press the Cancel/Resume button on your steering wheel.
- Adaptive Cruise Control Button: Alternatively, you can press the Adaptive Cruise Control button to deactivate the system.
- Vehicle Off: If you’ve come to a complete stop, you can simply switch off your Mustang Mach-E to deactivate Ford BlueCruise.
