Ford Maverick Awarded One of Consumer Reports’ Most Fuel-Efficient Cars Post

The Ford Maverick has been garnering rave reviews—not to mention tons of attention—ever since its launch. This incredible truck has already received the prestigious Kelley Blue Book award for Best Compact Pickup Truck, and now it can add another accolade to its already-stellar resume—it’s one of Consumer Reports’ most fuel-efficient vehicles on the market. Read on to learn more about what makes the Maverick so special.

The Ford Maverick Is One of the Most Fuel-Efficient Vehicles on the Market

Pickup trucks have long been regarded as gas-guzzlers, but all that is changing with the Ford Maverick. This practical truck has recently made the Consumer Reports list of the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the market, a ranking that’s based on overall fuel economy results derived from road testing for both city and highway driving.

The Ford Maverick was the only pickup to make the cut, achieving 33 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway for a combined 37 mpg. Overall, Consumer Reports has estimated that the Maverick has an annual fuel cost of only $1,315, making it one of the most fuel-efficient vehicles you can buy.

Consumer Reports also noted that aside from its impressive fuel efficiency, the Maverick stands out in several other aspects. From its smooth operation and quietness to its secure handling and refined ride, there’s a lot to love about this special compact pickup. On top of that, CR also highlighted that the Maverick’s visibility, maneuverability, and practical bed make this truck the perfect daily driver and the perfect vehicle for completing even the toughest jobs.

Two Fuel-Efficient Engine Options

Drivers can choose between two engine options for the Ford Maverick—a 2.5-liter full hybrid engine and a potent 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged unit—and both offer impressive fuel efficiency and plenty of power. While the Consumer Reports rating is based on the hybrid engine, even the four-cylinder version is incredibly frugal, averaging 29 mpg. It pumps out 250hp and 277 lb.-ft of torque, allowing the pickup to go from 0 to 60 in just 6.1 seconds, an impressive achievement for a compact pickup. The hybrid version offers plenty of power, too, generating up to 191 hp and 155 lb.-ft of torque.

No matter which engine you choose, the Ford Maverick delivers the power you need to get any job done. Standard trucks can accommodate a 1,500-pound payload and pull a capacity of 2,000 pounds and if you opt for the tow package you may pull up to 4,000 pounds, a truly impressive feat for a compact pickup.

The Ford Maverick Is Tough Enough to Get the Job Done, All Without Sacrificing Efficiency
