Mach 1 Revival
After a 17-year hiatus, the limited-edition Mach 1 – the pinnacle of the pony car’s 5.0-liter V8 style and performance – returns with 480 horsepower and six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. The Mach 1 inherits unique front-end styling with hood and body stripes as well as great acceleration and speed, cooling elements, and performance hardware from the Shelby® GT350 and Mustang GT500. Also available is the 10-speed SelectShift™ automatic transmission’s upgraded torque converter and unique calibration that allows optimizing torque capability, shift character and overall enhanced performance.
Peak Performance
This year’s generation of Ford Mustangs bring independent rear suspension and an updated chassis for improved handling and ride quality. The turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder packs a punch, and its optional High Performance package tacks on an even more responsive engine. The GT models feature a 460 horsepower V8 with an optional active exhaust. Both models are quicker than Mustangs of yonder. The Performance Pack Level 2 and EcoBoost Handling packages add track-ready equipment.
Interior Design
Boasting a beautiful layout, excellent performance, and impressive cargo space, the 2021 Mustang interior is its best yet. The back seat stows up to a dozen carry-on bags by pulling up the back seats by a strap and easily folds down by hand. The center console beats its competitors for space as well. Plus, premium features like heated and cooled seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, and a universal garage door opener make for a comfortable, intuitive ride.
Technology & Connectivity
The user-friendly SYNC® 3 – a fully integrated, voice-activated communications, entertainment, and information system – enables you to safely stay connected without taking your eyes of the road. The 2021 Mustangs also come with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and are available with a WiFi hotspot and SiriusXM. Included standard is the Ford Sync Connect, a smartphone app that can control and monitor your vehicle.
Safety Features
The 2021 Ford Mustang earned a five-star crash-test rating from the NHTSA. Standard driver-assistance technology includes blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, forward-collision warning, and automated emergency braking. Additionally, it offers pedestrian detection, automatic high-beam headlights, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a rearview camera, and Ford’s MyKey safety system, which allows speed and audio volume limits for secondary drivers. Optional safety features include rear parking sensors and adaptive cruise control.
