2021 Ford Mustang Mach E’s Performance Versus Other EV Crossovers Post

As EVs become more popular in the Stuart area, it’s essential to understand which make is best for you and your family. If you’re looking for more cargo and passenger rooms, just like standard combustion engine-powered vehicles, EVs come in crossovers too. And the all-new Ford Mustang Mach E is new to the game, but it’s quickly becoming one of the top performers.

But what else would you expect from a Mustang, right? At Essential Ford of Stuart, we’re always here to help you understand more about the EV vehicles out there to make the most informed buying decision in your car search.

That’s why today, we’ve put together this breakdown of how the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E’s performance holds up against other EV crossovers such as Tesla. But, first, let’s see how they stack up against each other!

While we could make many different comparisons between these two EVs, today, we just want to focus on performance, handling, and range. Because we believe even though it’s an electric-powered vehicle, it should still handle and drive well to provide a fun driving experience every time.

Range

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E has an incredible range of 270 miles between charges when cruising at 75-mph. While Tesla’s top-end Model Y gets 291 miles, it all changes when you’re in stop-and-go traffic.

Performance

While Tesla was the first on the market with high-quality EVs that held up to whatever you could throw at them, Ford has changed the game with the Mach E. The standard Mach-E Ford comes with a whopping 346-horsepower for an electric-powered crossover! That’s incredible. The Tesla Model Y only has 178-horsepower for the front induction motor and 240 horses for the rear synchronous motor. Ford even has a more powerful Mach-E GT coming that packs 480-horsepower!

The Mach E hits 60 mph in 4.9 seconds and stops from 70 mph in 177 feet, and the handling is secure to a point. While the Mach E isn’t built for aggressive driving, it’s a solid car with exceptional handling with precision steering accuracy for your daily commute and running errands.

While the Tesla Model Y may beat the Mustang Mach E base model’s 0-60 mph time, the handling and steering can be tight and clunky, even at slower speeds. You can feel the disconnected chassis when you steer, and the clunky build quality impacts the road and the overall driving experience.  If you’re interested in learning more about the all-new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E, be sure that you call your friends at Essential Ford of Stuart today to schedule your test drive! We’re always here to help you find the right car for your needs and to drive off in style!
