Ready. Set. Fight!

Engine & Performance

The 2022 Ford Bronco comes with two powerful engine options, a base 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine that puts out 300-horsepower and a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 engine with 30 extra horses under the hood. In addition, every Bronco trim comes with four-wheel drive because Ford built it with your Florida off-roading adventures in mind!

As for the 2022 Jeep Wrangler, you have three engine options to choose from, and each of them comes with an expensive upgrade cost. First, the standard engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that has 285-horsepower. Then there is the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4, 270-horsepower engine, and the 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 diesel with 260-horsepower. As you can see for yourself, the power lies with the Ford Bronco. You'll want to give the Bronco another point since the Wrangler comes with a part-time four-wheel drive and requires you to pay for an upgrade to have a full-time four-wheel drive.

Interior

Looking inside the all-new 2022 Ford Bronco is like taking a trip back in time with sleek and stylish modern design features that bring the aesthetic together nicely. The Bronco comes in two and four-door options, just like the Wrangler. In addition, you'll discover high-tech features that come standard, like an 8-inch touchscreen display backed by Ford's latest Sync 4 infotainment platform, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and more.

However, when you look inside the Wrangler, it looks like a modernized Jeep, but it isn't a comfortable ride. The 2022 Jeep Wrangler comes with a basic 5-inch audio display. But if you want to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, you're going to have to pay for another upgrade to the available seven or 8-inch touchscreen display. You even have to pay for backseat USB ports on the Wrangler, where you can find the standard in the Bronco.

Driver & Safety Features

The 2022 Ford Bronco comes with a standard state-of-the-art driver assistance safety suite that includes a forward-collision warning system with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection. Every Bronco also comes with Ford Trail Control, which is designed to help you manage the throttle and braking inputs when you're in off-road situations. For higher trim levels, you'll discover the complete collection of Ford Co-Pilot 360 technology that includes features such as lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, and even adaptive cruise control.

However, if you're looking for all those standard safety features on the Wrangler, you'll have to automatically upgrade at least one trim level—again, another upcharge. Only one Jeep Wrangler trim comes standard with all the driver assistance and safety features you'll find in the Bronco—the Rubicon 392.

Bottom Line?

While it may seem at first sight that these two SUVs can go toe to toe on the mat, the clear winner here is the 2022 Ford Bronco delivering a knockout punch with its standard safety features and performance capabilities.

Here's a quick breakdown of the ways the Bronco won this head-to-head battle over the Wrangler:
  • Better standard engine performance and horsepower.
  • More standard luxury style interior features and technology.
  • Standard driver safety and assistance features.
  • Fewer upgrades to get high-tech features and off-road capabilities.
  • Power train.
