2025 Ford F-150 Raptor vs 2025 Ram 1500 RHO

Choosing an F-150 is like picking out a truck that was made specifically for you. With so many options available, it feels as though there’s an endless combination of Ford trucks out there ripe for the picking! Not only is the Ram 1500 RHO short on options, but what you do end up with doesn’t live up to the F-150 Raptor.

Performance

One of the first things you get to choose is your powertrain. The Raptor model supports the two most powerful engines for the F-150, starting with the High-Output 3.5L EcoBoost V6 delivering 450 horsepower. Yes, it really does get more powerful than that. Upgrade to the 5.2L Supercharged V8 engine for a whopping 720 ponies, and you’ll be ready for anything!

Other available driving enhancements to note about the 2025 F-150 Raptor include:

  • A 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission system with Progressive Range Select and paddle shifters
  • FOX Dual-Live Valve Internal Bypass shocks
  • 5-link rear suspension system with Panhard rod
  • Continuously-controlled damping
  • 37-inch all-terrain tires
  • And more!

There’s too much to say about the F-150 Raptor so we encourage you to hit up your local Ford dealer to get all the deets. These were just some of our favorites.

On the other hand, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO comes with a high-output 3.0L engine that caps at 540 horsepower. As a reminder, the F-150 Raptor’s upgraded powertrain can achieve 720 HP, so there’s the end of that argument. We give the Ram 1500 RHO props for including a Bilstein Black Hawk shock system, but between that and Ford’s FOX Dual-Live system, you’re the decider as it’s up to preference. Feel for yourself to see what you like, but it would be hard to overlook everything else that the Ram 1500 RHO lacks in performance.

Safety & Features

Everyone always talks about pre-collision features, but what if an accident happens anyway? Just because these driver assist systems are designed to help prevent these cases doesn’t mean you’re completely immune to crashing. Ford thought of this which is why the 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor comes with both Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and Post-Collision Braking to help stop your momentum and prevent further damage even after you’re hit. And because you’ll most likely be towing a bunch in your F-150 Raptor, you’ll also have trailer-focused safety features to have your back. This includes Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Trailer Reverse Guidance.

You’ll also get basic safety and driver-assist features in the new Ram 1500 RHO, but it’s the optional features that may cause a bit of controversy. Hands-free driving is a big one that not everyone is ready to fully trust yet. With the occasional autonomous driving incidents that you hear about every now and then, who could blame them? Evasive steering assist is another one that has the potential to cause issues since no computer can see exactly what you’re seeing. Sometimes, it’s better to just trust your own judgment.

Interior

There are countless interior features to be offered in the F-150 Raptor that you can make this incredible pickup your very own. Do you plan on using this pickup for work? You can use the Console Work Surface to write on blueprints or browse on your laptop. Do you like to go out fishing? The F-150 Raptor supports a partitioned, fold-flat storage compartment for your gear. Do you take long trips? 10-way power adjustments and power lumbar support offer relief when you would normally feel tense after spending hours on the road. If you’re simply into style, the F-150 Raptor comes in many faces. Black leather with orange contrast stitching, real wood trim, and Alcantara suede with blue accents are all yours for the taking!

When you go with the Ram 1500 RHO, what you see is what you get. Individuality is a foreign concept here which is a shame for those who like to feel special and unique. The Ram 1500 RHO may also offer leather trim and powered seat adjustments, but the spirit is lost on this otherwise ordinary ride. There’s nothing catered to niche drivers, whereas Ford offers special amenities that prove their team of designers was thinking hard about who exactly would be driving their trucks. All it takes is a small gesture to build that connection between truck and driver, and we’ve only seen this level of effort from Ford.

Bottom Line

There are plenty of reasons Ford’s famous F-150 has been a favorite among pickup truckers, and the new 2025 Ford F-150 Raptor adds even more to that list of reasons. The care put into this line of trucks and the ability to cater to your unique lifestyle and personality is a special experience that can feel impossible to find in any other brand. Even with Ram’s new 1500 RHO in the ring, Ford still towers over the competition.
